Calling All Volunteers!
Help Spread the Word About Clean Heating and Cooling in Putnam County
The Campaign is on now, and we need your help to spread the word!
We’re looking for volunteers within Putnam County to spread the word about an opportunity that will help your community and environment in a variety of different ways.
NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research & Development Authority) is investing and providing generous rebates to help homeowners and business owners throughout NY State upgrade to more energy efficient heating and cooling technology (geothermal, heat pumps, solar hot water, etc.). And now, we are starting the efforts in Putnam County!
As part of this campaign, we’re looking for volunteers like you to join our Clean Heating and Cooling Team, which will support local homeowners and businesses in transitioning from high-cost fuels (such as propane and heating oil) resulting in lower community greenhouse emissions, reduced energy bills, and increased year-round comfort.
All we’re asking is that you help get the word out in your community about this program and work with us to evaluate the vendors who apply to install the new heating and cooling systems. Your time commitment would be at most a few hours a week over the next few weeks.
No need for any technical background — we're planning training sessions where you'll learn about these technologies, sustainable practices, how to get the word out, and community-building. You'll help us plan and coordinate the exciting launch party (tentatively November 14) where we'll bring the community together to explain the benefits of upgrading.
This is your opportunity to get more involved in your community, network with like-minded volunteers, learn more about renewable and sustainable energy technologies, and make a positive contribution to our environment!
If you’re interested in learning more, please complete the sign-up form below. We'll send you information about the campaign as well as a volunteer meeting within Putnam County.
We ask that you kindly forward the link to others in your community whom you feel would be interested in participating in this opportunity as well!
